Is Heaven Your Home?

How to have forgiveness of your sins and a relationship with God

The Bible says that everyone is a sinner.

Our sins (disobedience to God) have separated us from God.

Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

1 John 1:8 “ If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”

Isaiah 59:2 “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.”

The Bible says that the judgement and penalty of sin is death and eternal separation

from God in hell forever.

Revelation 20:15 “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death,” Wages means payment. The payment of our sin is death and Hell. If we continue in sin and die without Christ we will be condemned forever.

The Bible says that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died in our place.

All of our sins were laid on Jesus when He died on the cross. He paid our sin debt

for us.

John 3:16-18 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

2Peter 3:9 “ The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

The Bible says that we must repent of our sins and trust the Lord Jesus Christ as

our Savior.

Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt

believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

While we do not believe a ritualistic prayer will get anyone to Heaven, we do

believe that calling upon the name of Jesus Christ with a genuine and sincere

attitude of repentance and trusting Him and Him alone will.

You could pray something like this:

“Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. Please forgive me of all my sins. I am

trusting You and only You to forgive me. Jesus, please save me right now. Thank

you, Jesus for paying my sin debt and saving me. Amen”

If you truly repented of your sins and asked the Lord Jesus Christ to forgive you of

your sins, then God’s Word gives you the promise of eternal life.

Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

Now that you are saved, and you have a relationship with God, you need to grow

as a Christian.

1 Peter 2:2 “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:”

Colossians 1:10 “That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;”

2 Peter 3:18 “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.”

The more we grow in the Lord the closer our relationship will be with God, and the greater our blessings and joy in life will be.
